Chardham roads are not like highways. You are going through narrow mountain stretches, sudden weather changes and long driving hours every single day for 10 to 12 days. Having your own dedicated vehicle means you stop when you want, rest when you need and do not depend on any bus schedule in the middle of the mountains.
For families with elderly members or kids, the comfort difference is massive. You get proper seating, luggage space and a driver who knows the mountain roads well. Compare that to sharing a bus with strangers for nearly two weeks, the experience is completely different.
Cost wise when split among 10 to 12 people it actually becomes very affordable. Most people who do Chardham Yatra from Delhi by Tempo Traveller say they would never go any other way.
