Rockstar must also re-evaluate how it handles progression and player freedom. In GTA 5, progression was tied mostly to mission completion and skill upgrades, but players want deeper ways to shape their character. GTA 6 should offer more customization, not only cosmetically but also in abilities, lifestyle choices, and personal story direction. Players want freedom not just in how they play but in how they express themselves within the world. This includes housing, clothing, vehicles, and even personality-driven decisions. Player agency should extend beyond simply choosing weapons or outfits. It should influence how the story unfolds, how relationships develop, and how the world responds. While GTA has never been a branching-path RPG, incorporating more player-driven outcomes could make GTA 6 feel more personal and replayable than GTA 5.
