This is such a well researched post, really helpful for first timers!
Just want to add one thing from our experience. The route you've shared is spot on but people often underestimate the driving hours between each dham. The distance looks manageable on paper but mountain roads slow everything down significantly, sometimes 30 km takes 2 hours easily.
Also your point about rest days is so important. We tried rushing Kedarnath on the same day we reached Guptkashi and it was exhausting. Next morning darshan is always better, you are fresh and the queues are shorter too.
One more tip for anyone with elders in the group, confirm pony and palki availability before you go especially for Yamunotri. During peak season they get booked out quickly and you don't want your parents stuck without an option.
For anyone starting fresh, simply search for Char Dham Yatra Route Map before finalizing anything, it makes the whole planning process so much clearer.
