Donations made to registered charitable organizations registered under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act qualify for tax benefits in India. This means when you donate to an approved NGO or trust, you can claim a deduction of 50% or 100% of the donated amount from your taxable income, depending on the organization’s certification.

To avail of this benefit, ensure the NGO is registered under Section 12A and 80G, and always collect a valid donation receipt that mentions the NGO’s PAN, registration number, and your contribution details. Both monetary donations (via cheque, UPI, or online transfer) and certain in-kind donations may be eligible, provided they meet government guidelines.

By donating to certified NGOs like Sakshi, you not only support social causes such as child education, women empowerment, and healthcare but also enjoy legitimate tax-saving benefits while making a real difference.

To get tax benefit details on 80G Exemption on Donation, enter all the Details in ITR Form.

In the Income Tax e-Filing Portal:

  1. Login → Go to File Return → Choose relevant ITR form (usually ITR-1 or ITR-2).
  2. Under “Deductions” → Section 80G, click Add Details.
Fill: Name of Donee, PAN of Donee, Address, donation amount, mode of payment and check eligibility criteria.
